13/14" alloys

Post by Mk1sooty »

Hi all, I'm after some help/advise with what alloys to run on my 1979 Alfasud sprint veloce?
It's on standard steels and suspension and got some of Justsuds lowering springs coming.
My aim is to try and keep its look as standard as possible so keep chrome bumpers.
I tried some 14" speed line's off a 33 but not convinced!
Any help/ideas appreciated
Cheers all
Mike

Nothing modern...!

I'd stick to period steels or period alloys in 13inch

Have you seen the banded 13inch steel wheels on here somewhere, on sudboy1490's blue series 1 Sud ? They look good.

Some wheels in this pic might be options. The revolution Rfx on the right was fitted to 33's bit might suit an older Sprint as its been around a long time.

The compomotive next to it is quite rare so difficult to find

The one on the left has grown on me over the years as its a bit like a poor mans ronal turbo, I remember some alfetta gtv's having a similar but nicer looking flat face wheel on them. I also like the original finned 13 inch alloy fitted to early sprint veloces - are the called campantura ?

The ronal also looks good which again some pics somewhere on here of the blue Sud fitted with some

I'm contradicting myself as the pic are all later wheels but probably easier to get hold of.

I also like the old 'alleycat' style wheel from the 70's and 80's but it's not everyone's taste.

Shrew might appear soon with some ideas....

Hi all, appreciate ya ideas.
Those steels are the same as mine, would those banded ones fit a sprint or would I have to go narrower?
Cheers again.

Best thing would be to fit the steels and measure up how much width you could safely add before contact with the wheelarch is possible.

Banded this way adds all the extra width to the outward side, nothing to the inner, so it's only wheel arch contact you need be concerned with :)
