Its great to see so much more detail on a car i thought i knew a bit about already, quite inspiring and thought provoking :)

Certainly one quick car this, always a good competitor in the Alfashop modified class's, and is 12k that much really?

The engine development alone runs into £1000's, so would the gearbox, and the free labour hours don't bare considering.

A fast piece of history that, i hope someone takes it off John and it stays racing here in the UK :D

when you think what it would cost to create what is still a race winning car then it's not a bad price compared with what else is out there.
certainly it goes well around cadwell
Giulietta JTD 170
Lancia Delta integrale
Lancia Flavia coupe 1.8 1963
Lancia Dedra turbo
Maserati 3200GT

I'm bad with people things
But I should have tried more

I doubt you could build the engine and box for 12k, never mind the rest of the car.

I hope it stays racing, just the sound of these cars makes them worth it.

I remember when about 6 of them used to be racing, as well as a couple of fast suds and Tim Lewis Sprint.

Wonder what happened to them all (Bob godbold Orange, Nick Humphrey red, a blue and white one, Bryan , the sismey car, mike Watson blue and orange I think , a yellow one (bridge?)

Now I see how old school mine really is ! :) Those photo's are an education.

Most impressive and highly expensive to create as you say.

If you were starting from scratch and paying someone else to do it then 12k wouldn't cover an engine - thats on the basis of an Omex/MBE type management system - Life/Pectel/Motec start at £3k, etc. The transmissions we all use - straight cut gears, billet sumps and rear covers, LSD, etc would be circa £5k. Quantum dampers are very good quality, wheels, tyres - it all adds up and as we all know with most race cars/classic cars/restorations we don't really want to know what the total spend is!

As for the other cars, mine is obviously still in use! The Sismey car you have here for sale, Bob's 33 I guess is at Brunswick under a cover, Tim Lewis still has his Sprint but I'm guessing its also under a cover as it hasn't been out for years. Nick Humphrey's old car went to Jonny Heynes and then Lee Penn, the sister car to that is raced by Nick Anderson in our series. Mike Watson's car was orignially built by BLS as the supercharged 33 raced by Mark Riddle - it then went to Keith Fawdington before Mike Watson then Shaun Bugner (related to Joe, the boxer) - Kevin Reynolds is now restoring/preparing this car having bought the remains of it last winter (it was accident damaged). The blue and white car was originally owned by Alan Marshall and then Gary Fox - it's not been seen since 2001. The Bridge car I'm not sure about. The grey turbo was built by Ray Mears, bought by Andy Millar and is now with Dave Thomas.

Bob godbold's car isn't at Brunswick . I think it got sold.

In hindsight the yellow bridge car might have been a yellow Sud.

Found an old video from cadwell 1999 with Gary fox in the blue white one, among others, including Shane Crumpler in the arna.

Ok - Bob's car hasn't ever re-appeared hence it was just my guess it was still at Brunswick or nearby.

I really should have better things to do with my time......but added another link to the vids thread. The yellow 33 makes a fleeting appearance, it wasn't bridge, it was David Thomas garage livery.

No, it isn't that one - that pic looks like your red sud when it was yellow.

The yellow sud had a big spoiler on the front, possibly a 33 veloce spoiler modified, slightly modified arches, might have had 'Wolf' written on it.

I have a photo at home ( a proper old fashioned one) somewhere I think.

It was driven by Jonathan Walter but it didn't get used much in the UK, I think they (Bridge Motorsport) tended to take it over to Spa and Zandvoort a couple of times a year. I think part of the kit (probably the arches) was Alfastyl.

:) This is what racing modified Alfa's in the same series since 1993 has done to me (plus the 15 years helping with the BLS cars before I started myself)!
