another fantastic day.
nothing at all achieved with relation to doing stuff to the sud, but a trip to aladins cave with john found some of the parts i'd been missing.
first good find, the other half of the lower front spoiler. brilliant, was really worried about trying to find another one. will need a couple of repairs but is more than good enough to use
next we searched through a pile of glass, found a few likely candidates for a screen but all were ruled out as being for other models. finally about the last one we checked was the holy grail.
a good screen covered in dust and dirt which thankfully when cleaned revealed no chips or cracks,.
best of all though it had the rare seal that was fitted between'76 & '78 according to justsud john's recent list
""Up to 1976 were bonded screens, '76 to '78 they had a rubber seal with a stainless steel trim insert, and '78 onwards had a plain rubber seal. The screens with the stainless trim were slightly smaller ( 6mm I think ) than the plain rubber seal screens. Also, some cars had tinted glass, probably ti' s, but not sure.
Cheers, John.""
i didn't really fancy bonding a screen in as it's so very messy.
didn't also want to use an S3 seal but thought the rubber seal with chrome trim would never be found seeing as it was only used for a couple of years.
haven't got the insert but it's available from woolies for £2-50 a metre. bargain!!

we also found a dashboard undertray which again needs robs cleaning powers. it also has a natty little pocket underneath for keeping your service book etc, nice touch
stainless door opening plates were another good find, will keep the carpet pinned down nice and brightly.
also found the missing drivers door glasses, in clear glass not tinted. so other than the rear screen i'm sorted now, but think rich will come to my rescue on that
last little gem was on the underside of a bonnet, a lovely sticker that actually peeled off in one piece
couple of hours well spent, finished off with fixing johns bird strike on his 147
