Does anyone know what Alfasud new list prices were in July 1977.
at that time,I came home after working abroad on a Construction project with several grand burning a hole in my pocket!
My parents lived in Horsforth,Leeds, and I remember a small garage selling new and used Alfasuds on Hawksworth Road.
I had a look at a couple ,but sadly never bought one.
I ended up buying a new Spitfire 1500, and clearly remember paying £2300 for it.
Awful car, poor engine,4 speed gearbox failed after a few months, dodgy handling.....but my then girlfriend liked the look of the car in Brooklands green with tan houndstooth seats.
An X1/9 1300 had been high on my list also, but they wouldn't insure me as it was group 6 out of the old 7 groups!
I always regret not buying a new or nearly new Sud.
Can't remember clearly, but perhaps I couldn't get insured on a ti. Or maybe they were a lot more than the Spitfire.
but an SC would have been nice.....Hey Ho
Anyone old enough on this forum to know the answer......don't be shy!
Dave

That's dedication, painting the garage door to match. Love it!

That was a bit of a steal Keith.
In 1981 my blue 1.2ti cost me £850 I think. The metal was quietly fizzing though.

jobeed, the door is now green and my Dad still lives there.
Simon, it didn't look like that when I bought it. That was after new wings, arches and a respray. It later got ti spoilers.
Tim, nice collection. Were the wheels all the same set or just coincidence ? I had a similar looking set of 100+ on my S1 Alfa 33.

I would never have remembered the wheels Keith if you hadn't named them.
The green and rust coloured series 2 wheels where 100+, however the wheels on the white series 1, then transferred to the red S3 were momo. They looked almost identical.
