Bulb change?!

Post by Fiatchris »

Got home last night and wife said bulb had gone in guilietta, so popped out to have a look, what utter ****** designed that? You would need an arm like ET to actually do the job, Got it out after a while haven't put new one in yet as didn't have a spare, my hand looks like that little scratch Shrew was moaning about last year! :D
As it is a requirement to carry spare bulbs on the continent is it a requirement to fit them? Some cars are near impossible now, guy at works Avensis actually defeated me, how are people expected to do this by the roadside? We all know how charming , polite, patient and helpful the Gendarmes can be! My neighbour had to remove the battery from his Ford to change a bulb the other day.
I have off course got a plan.
Why don't we ALL pledge to ask salesmen in showrooms to demonstrate a bulb change before we commit to buying a car? That would send a message! Or not, but it would be funny!

Or, I could be just completely technically inept!! :o

I sympathise with you - I recall changing a bulb on our 156 and it took ages, I think it may have been quicker if I had taken the wing off!

Could be worse - I think Audi drivers have to take the engine out to change headlight bulbs...

most are now a complete PITA
some have made it easier by the headlight being able to come out quickly, like the transit van but most are a scratch fest
Giulietta JTD 170
Lancia Delta integrale
Lancia Flavia coupe 1.8 1963
Lancia Dedra turbo
Maserati 3200GT

I'm bad with people things
But I should have tried more

Yes a roadside bulb change would be near impossible for most modern cars considering the tool kit supplied,

And by the time you've achieved anything you'd have little more light output than with a blown bulb due to the 2 pints of claret you've drained from your knuckles all over everything!

Those hand scratches can be quite annoying!
