Shell looks great.
This is going to be a fantastic car when finished. I look forward to the NAD concourse award going to an Alfasud. I think in the future there will be a few of you fighting for it as we have some fantastic restos on here.

Thanks for all the comments - I am very happy with the paint job, just waiting for the bonnet and tailgate to be painted + all the black trims for the gutters , window bars, door scraper seal, sunroof frame etc.

Been sorting out some of my stash of new parts

New door seal rubbers and a new set of rear lamps

I did manage to spend a bit of time today starting to inject the anti corrosion wax into the box sections and into all the body seams before then fitting the rubbers seals and the lamp units.

The doors are on now so tomorrow I will wax the insides of the doors and fit the locks back on and then move on to inject sills and the rear panel lower edge - the wax does make a mess but I know it will be worth the time spent now to help keep the corrosion at bay

A couple of pictures of the shell with the masking paper off and a few bits going on

3 litres of wax have now been injected into the various sections + 2 500 ml aerosol cans so that should help keep the corrosion at bay !

Next job is to re-underseal in the rear arches where some white paint has got in and then on with the rebuild - my plan is to get all the glass in and the outer trims on before it leaves the bodyshop - I might also start to put some of the mechanical bits on and the wiring loom if they do not mind

Spent a bit of time yesterday starting to put bits back on under the bonnet, a new speedo cable one of the first things to fit as it is much easier without all the other stuff in the way, the rubber boot where it goes through the bulkhead was split on the original one

I had already checked the steering rack boots which were fine so just removed the end caps from the rack and re-greased and fitted new mounting rubbers

Then the wiring loom followed by heater box (which had been stripped and cleaned) + a few other bits so it now looks like this

New front bumper mounting captive nuts as per the originals as one had a bit broken off the side

It does seem like christmas has come early when opening new packets of parts to fit !

Starting to look a bit more like a Sud now with bits going back on, wheelarch trims etc. all back on, doors built up, fuel tank and filler neck on, brake/fuel pipes that run along the floor back on

A few more nice new bits have gone on, the plastic water drain pipe from the fuel filler + a brake compensator valve and the rubber ring that goes around the compesnator bar

Hope to get the rest of the glass back in and the bonnet and tailgate on next week

It's coming together very nicely. This phase is the most fun stage of the project apart from driving the finished product of course. Keep the speed up and enjoy it.

The brake compensator came from Ebay in France about 10 years ago now and has been in the bottom of the airing cupboard ever since ! - my wife is pleased that the car going back together as there have been quite a few bits stored in our airing cupboard - brake calipers,clutch master and slave cylinders and brake pads - nice to keep them warm and dry !

Not too much has been done this week but should have some time next week - here are a few pictures of the front suspension being rebuilt

All the suspension parts have been powder coated, bushes have been replaced with new originals, one new strut pivot bearing + both strut dust boots and new top mounts - look at the shape of the holes in the centre of the original top mounts - I guess it is these that wear and lead to excessive negative camber on the front

The original strut inserts were tested and were fine, New CV gaitors + clips

This was all done some time ago now and all have been stored away waiting the return of the bodyshell

A bit of thread resurrection. I too am looking for a paint code sticker but having painted my car in 167A obviously it's not an original Sprint colour. Anybody able to advise?

Long overdue update !!

As a few of you on here will know from Southern Alfa Day yesterday the car is now on the road

Here are a few more pictures of parts going back on etc.

Close up of the fuel filler with the correct type of clips - these came from Alfa Stop - they are used as air pipe clips on some older Alfa's but look the same as the original fuel filler pipe clips

2018 was a good year with the car being the overall winner of the concours at National Alfa Day and then also being on the club stand at the NEC classic car show in November
Safely tucked away in an air chamber for the winter and looking forward to the spring
