Hello, my name's Mark. I met a couple of you on Sunday at NAD. Mine's the black one. It's my 3rd 'Sud and I've owned itfor 27 years. Is that a record?

Mine seems to be running well. Just went over 84k miles on the way back to Suffolk from Chatsworth. Did just over 500 miles this weekend with 5 on board. Amazing little car. Took just over 3 hours to do the 192 miles back home - it cruises as fast as you can get away with in the UK all day :)

Prep for the trip? Checked tyre pressures, fluid levels and filled the tank with super unleaded. That was it. Only problem of note: vent fan not working.

Some piccies:

Hi MrK and welcome to CAF. Nice Alfasud you have there, it must feel like part of the family to have had it that long. I had a 1.3 SC in black with the brown herringbone interior, looked good in that colour.

Hello Mr K, and welcome aboard sir :P

Nice Sud, looks good and solid where it counts.

Nice to know its an enjoyable drive too, some people miss that point with many other aspects of classic ownership.

Chris - good to meet you - I like the fact you're using yours as a daily driver.

Shrew - I definitely enjoy driving these cars but I'm not a classic car man. I'm an Alfasud fan from the late 80s who bought my 3rd 'Sud at 6 years old and just kept it when I got other cars. It was always too good to sell for a few hundred quid in the mid-late 90s. I predicted that if I kept it it would become very rare, and here we are today with just 66 left (non-Sprints, last time I checked).

alfasuddriver - yes, almost part of the family and definitely part of the furniture.

I've maintained my car almost 100% DIY and can offer advice on rebuilding brake calipers and the starter - both done in the last couple of years at almost zero cost - if anyone's interested.

Cheers
