33 doors
33 doors
Quick question, apart from trim, door handles and the central locking, are the series 1/2 rear doors the same as a series 3, 33 doors and as such be a direct fit, ie same shape for aperture and hinges and catch in the same place? And would the above be able to be transferred across? including the wiring for the central locking.

Re: 33 doors
Good question?
I'd previously assumed the rear doors were different because of the rear quarter panel profiling, but at a glance now at images of s2 and s3 cars, I'm doubting myself.
Are you having trouble sourcing s3 doors or parts?
Incidentally s2 handles fit straight in and look way better imo

Re: 33 doors
Hi,just a bit of luck I'm looking for S1/2 Door handles as "to me" look better than the S3's as there "sunk".
I was going to to do a swap with Alex 33 (ebay) but if your interested I can tell Alex that you need them.
I am told that the S3's rend to break when owners (who should know better) leave them out in the frost and then try to open the Door.
PM me if you need a set and I will get hold of Alex.
Cheers

Re: 33 doors
Well s2 handles definitely fit the s3 door. And you're right, they look much better. One of the nicer subtle changes I made to mine a few years ago.
Re: 33 doors
Thanks Guys
Not really having trouble sourcing doors etc as not really looking that hard, Shrew, but as my O/S rear requires a patch (Kev's welding skills type patch), as does my N/S front incidentally, and I saw a pair of s2 rear doors on ebay I wondered if they would fit, which would save a whole lot of effort if they were a direct swap as they appear to have no rust issues at all, in any case better then my O/S door. The bonus is they have the window winders too, which would also replace my broken one. But clearly a no goer if they don't fit!
As regards the handles I am happy with the S3 ones as I am trying to keep the car as original as possible and I also have a spare set of S3's and by the sounds of it there should be plenty going cheap if I need any more
. But agree the S2/1 ones look sleeker.
