Bugger just googled it and there was a 4x4 156 . It looks to old and rusty to be a 159or brera never worked on a 155 do not sure what they look like . Second guess 155 or 166

yes, very complicated 4WD system which i'm sure john will be able to explain more about.

it's linked in with the steering all by hydraulics and computers, variable torque split dependant on many variables.

having been a passenger I can confirm that for a car of it's size it's like the proverbial to a blanket around the twisty stuff, with an awesoem soundtrack to boot.

rumour has it that it may be up for sale soon, but i have my doubts :)

Only the arms are rusty! Thanks to Kevin, it's now temporarily 2 wheel drive whilst the transmission servo hydraulic lines are replaced. Incidentally, it came from the factory with an Austrian 'viscomatic' torque splitter (Steyr) and a German gearbox (Getrag). So it can only be....

Even the standard 3.0v6, was a quick and good handling car for its size, and what a glorious engine, had one for 5 years, one of the best cars I owned, perfect for running the family around too.

First owner of mine, below, was Polly Peck International, a company made notorious by Azil Nadir who did a runner to Cyprus after siphoning off millions before his company collapsed
