89 Sprint - Battery removal

I need to replace the battery on my Sprint and this is a first for me. I know the battery is secured through the bulkhead but I'm not 100% confident just undoing nuts and bolts until something falls off the car!
Can anyone guide me?
Cheers,
Steve

Guessing the Sprint is the same as a Sud - the battery clamp is a doddle with a socket and extension, getting it back in place is damn fiddly. Perhaps others have a cunning trick for doing that.

No worries mate, its just a number 10 bolt which you can find in the engine bay, right under the brake lines (in front of the battery of course).
Undo that and the bracket will move out releasing the battery

Cheers guys!
I think I need to go to specsavers

because I looked high and low for a bolt to release it. I even ended up on my back in the passenger footwell! In my defence the light was poor and I was using the iphone torch.
While I'm on the subject can someone recommend a suitable replacement battery?
Steve

"Err hmm" in the engine bay. Follow the arrow.

Don't you just love this forum !
needed to remove my battery and had forgotten the location of the bolt for the clamp, quick search and hey presto.
As you may see the battery was less battery and more IED. baking soda and soapy water seem to have dealt with the worst of it.
A bit lucky but can't understand why it exploded, was on charge in garage when it went after about a week after a run out.

I get the clamp in place when refitting by using an extendable magnet tool - or jiggle into place with a long screwdriver.

Ouch !!
That happened to me once, but while driving. A loud bang under the bonnet but didn't see anything obvious. Drove car home, used it the next day, but the second day turned over slowly , but started. Day three it was flat and when I went to jump it found the battery had physically blown in two halves. That turned out to be a voltage regulator fault and the alternator boiled the battery.
