What a nightmare.
Fortnight ago I was told the wipers were making a funny noise by the good lady.
After a bit of investigation discovered the NS plastic housing had sheared off. After few phone calls with lots of people saying it's a common problem I managed to locate one up North at a breakers. Assured it was in good working so ordered it. Only problem was checking do next day delivery on a friday. Got home from work on Monday and it was sat waiting for me. Got it out of the packaging to find one of the ends had sheared of just like the one on the car. Too late to contact supplier so had to do it next day. They were ok about it but hadn't got another.
Had a trawl through the internet and found another so ordered that. After a few days nothing had appeared so contacted the seller who was bloody useless. Turned out of hadn't even been posted. Another weekend lost. When it turned up after the weekend the plastic ends were fine. However when I tried to fit it guess what? It wasn't for a 147, it was for a Guilietta.
Back to ebay. Through all this there had been a brand new one listed but the guy wanted a lot of money for it. Getting fed up now so after a bit of negotiation it was ordered.
It turned up yesterday in its original OE packaging. Got it out guess what? The end was snapped off like the first one. That's going back to.
I am now trying to glue the ends of my originals back together whilst trying to find one close enough I can actually go and see it and take it home wrapped in cotton wool.
What a nightmare

New linkages not mega expensive?
Someone fixed theirs by splitting a short length of copper pipe and clamping it on with 2 jubilee clips!

The linkages I have seen are all for LHD cars which are different.
Could you give me a link to the copper pipe repair please???

I just googled "Alfa 147 wiper linkage repair" and it came up on Alfa Owner.

Just a piece of copper pipe split in its length and 2 jubilees.
Someone else did a fibreglass repair which looked stronger.

Hi Dave
Found it now.
Stupid thing is I went on blackened and did a search and it came up with hardly anything.
Used the ideas in the post an just waiting for the fibreglass to go off.

Many thanks
