Who is watching the ti x on ebay?

I’ve seen it and if I had somewhere to put it...... As ever it’s impossible to assess how much welding it needs in the range of a lot to “you’ll be welding for the rest of your life”. That said I hope it’s not bought to break. Getting bits for mine hasn’t been that hard including an almost new front engine mount and it doesn’t feel like we are short of parts (albeit some are dear) but whole cars are needed.

What makes it a ti ‘x’ ? I can’t remember.

Wonder what’s under the white sheet in front of the sud?

One ad says Harrogate, one says knaresborough, I’m sure my fading memory remembers an Alfa specialist at knaresborough ? There was one at York ?

Harrogate and Knaresborough more or less merge into one another these days. I lived in North Leeds for a lot of years.

The Alfa specialist for York was out towards Elvington airfield but for the life of me I can’t remember their name. They were selling used Isuzu or whatever last time I was past. I don’t recall one in Knaesborough - circa 2002/2003 I used to take my 75 up to Wynn at Keighley or to Roger Evans as there wasn’t anyone closer I could find.

I’ve down some research and I think it’s a Company called Tewit park auto services in Harrogate.the weird thing is the place looks like they’ve literally gone home one night and never opened up again . Bet there’s an interesting back story to the situation .

If you look at the other listed items, post lifts, there is a silver alfetta gtv/6 in there also. There’s an import mr2 on the lift.

That would explain it. The garage has residential planning permission over the site and it’s either just been sold or is being sold for demolition and redevelopment.

I’d guess a Giulia gtv coupe under the white sheet looking at the roofline ?

I’d say so - when the garage was active they had Giulias in there from old postings left on the internet.

I looked the sud up on the DVlA. Last reg 1991/92.

Bizarre though I’d never heard of them and had an Alfetta, 75 and 33 when I lived there and and struggled to find anyone who could help me locally.

Not sure the brake pads have been delivered yet for the 164, it’ll be delayed a bit longer 😀

If thats a Gtv I need a good drive out - about 100 miles should do it - handy Knaesborough is just that distance.

Gtv’s roof slopes all the way - albeit I spent most of my time under mine. It actually could be an Alfetta saloon or weirdly it looks a bit like a Saab 99/90/900 (my very first car was a 99).

Maybe it is the alfetta Gtv under the sheet in the sud pic and uncovered in the mr2 pic.

Doesn’t look bad in the pic......but as we all find out it’s not always reality.

A bit left field Andrew, did you own a red 155 sport pack when up in north Leeds ?

No - a white 75 Veloce TS with all white body and a recaro interior I bought second hand. Bought it from Nick Humphrey - anyone’s seen it let me know - went to Prague and back in that after Roger Evans had basically made it group F aroc spec. Gave the Belgians a surprise when they tried to cut me up. Nothing changed direction faster than that thing - it had a very fierce camber, avo dampers with sport springs and lowered bars and an uprated lsd.

Possibly the most tasteless car Alfa ever made - certainly one of the most fun!

It's at a garage called Tewit Park Auto Services in Harrogate. The poor TiX has been sitting there and literally hasn't moved for twenty-eight years.
A guy who I know and lives locally tells me that allegedly the workshop roof leaks and the garage floor floods in the winter. The car's inner cills are shot and the front inner rails have corroded.
The car has apparently had a hard life. Mileage unknown but was used as a tow vehicle. Everything will be seized so a complete restoration will be needed by somebody with a lot of time and very deep pockets!
There'll be a stash of NOS spare parts at the back of the premises but burried in rubbish.

If what you say is correct Colin then I’d say the current bidding seems to be a little In the generous side. That said it would be a good parts car but not at £2500 (I’ll take the screen though) lol

Mileage is coming up to 100k.
Noticed the Alpha on the side decals. Obviously a pattern part to replace the originals, but why?
Also, the wheels are mis-matched so that's another detail that'll need correcting.
The interior's not in the best of shape either so the front seats will need re-upholstering.
Loo seems to have got it right. For the amount of time and money needed to bring the poor thing back to life, the bidding seems to be exceeding its practical value.
It'll now need to be purchased as a full restoration project as it's too much money for a parts car and bidding's not over yet.

It definitely needs to be cheaper because it needs lots of work🙄

I take it no forum members are involved in the bidding ?
