I'd like some help / advise about adjustable front strut top mounts please.

My car is lowered on standard diameter BLS springs (from the early 1990's) and with 33 front struts runs a lot (too much) negative camber. I'd like to add some adjustable top mounts so I can get the camber back closer to where it should be.

What type of adjustable top mounts would people recommend? What parts will I need to fit them?

from what I remember from the likes of BLS Tom & Adie Hawkins the best way do dial out camber is on the strut fixing bolts, the top mounts adjusting outwards didn't help with bump steer or something?
slot the holes where it joins the hub slightly...

What negative camber do you have ? Not sure why a set of lowering springs would give too much.

My racer is very low on 33 struts and we had to slot the strut/hub mounting holes to give more camber.

Sorry to question you Jet, but are you sure its not just the fact that the camber is accentuated when the car is lower, wider wheels and tyres ? Post a pic from the front of the car. We had to slot the lower strut mounts a fair amount to get 2 to 2.5mm either side .

I have recently fitted a set of Compbrake camber adjustable top mount as I was suffering really bad bump steer and the car when under acceleration was a handful and very skittish, since fitting the car is incredible and now gives a real confidence in all aspects driving even on our poorly surfaced roads. My set up is Koni yellow inserts, AHM class F race springs and purple powerflex bushes all round also Im using 15 inch split rim wheels on the front.
When I fitted the top mounts I had to oversize the 4 bolt holes to align with the 4 top mount threads and use wide headed bolts to attach the mount, also use a 15mm spacer to take up the excessive amount the koni stantion tube protruded through the top of the top mount bearing. I have driven the car since for 100 miles or so and its certainly good seeing as my setup is purely for track, the only downside to these are they won't have a full range of adjustment due to the 4 bearing locking bolts they use to clamp them onto position as on full positive camber two of the 4 bolts will foul on the car body work. (hope that makes sense).

Here you go:- From the conversation I had with Compbrake you need the smallest 10.1mm rose bush inserts to fit a Koni Stantion tube and you will need to make a spacer to take up the slack so you can tighten down the koni nylock on to the stantion tube unless you have had the tube shortened and new thread cut into it, needless to say I didn't bother, if you have an e-mail address I can send you a few pic's.

No, although it is the part which I fitted to the car, the top mount supplied has multiple threads to mount it so it was just drilling out the cars 4 body holes til they aligned to be able to fit using a step drill bit and using 4 wide headed bolts to secure. You will see these from the images although you could just drill the 3 bolt pattern to suit.

Oh and as for images the strut brace had to be drilled out larger too.

So the mounts do not actually 'fit', you need to modify the holes in the shell?

How much do they misalign by?

Similar for a 1984 series Alfasud?
