Sprint rear side window

Post by StescoG66 »

Hi folks

Is there a knack to reinsntalling the rear windows int he Sprint? Do you bolt the window to the outer frame and install as one unit, or are they installed separately? Are they installed from inside or outside the car? I have looked at the Haynes manual, and - can't see any reference to it. Equally the rubbers - there is no reference to these in the Haynes manual but am sure I can work it out.........

This will be the first of many reassembly questions I am afraid .........

Do you know you can lower the rear windows about 50mm/2 inch? By turning a knob but most of the time the mechanism is stuck and rusted. You will need to remove the rear trim on the inside to inspect and you will see how to install/uninstall the glass.

I think!!..... you have the outside trim in place then drop the glass into the slot. Then get the window lift mechanism in place with the little wheel in the slot on the metal section fixed to the bottom of the glass. Bolt the lift mechanism to the car then put the inside trim in place.
It is a pain and the design is calculated to get water inside the rear panel as the water trap with its plastic pipe clogs up and water sits in the trap and winder mechanism.......
