Ah, now the wiring loom comment makes sense! Shame about the damage, easily done, but at least it's an easily repaired one as you say not like the modern stuff that hates being chopped into.

I went through this 2 yrs ago with both the sills which was all down to a soft drivers side jacking point, ended up making inner sills and purchase 2 original part outer sills from Alfa Service in Germany. I didn't really need to do the offside but quite enjoyed getting stuck in to a project that my wife disproved of anyway I burnt through several t-shits due to splatter and one is caked in seam sealer which is indestructible even after 30 odd washes.

I decided to remove all the undersealer and painted the underneath in zinc primer so its easy to spot any potential rust.

Anyway keep up the work mate.

Well I seem to basically have a solid 33
Finished the sill and rear inner arch sill .then seam sealed it all Then I cut out the fuel filler area,to get to the inner arch. Did a small repair .then made up a u shape piece to go round the top .then seam sealed it . Plus your see the new piece to go back in place of the old filler hole. Plus I put masking tape on .so when I'm finished. I've got a centre line .to drill a new hole for the filler. I'm going for an aero style filler cap. But I haven't got that yet. So tomorrow I'll get that piece welded in and that's the welding done for the time being.
Next will be stud conversion on this side and brake upgrade.

That takes me back JB.
When I had my S2 the filler neck was rotted out and I grafted a box and flap off a Sprint into the quarter. Hot air gun allowed me to slightly bend the filler pipe to connect it back up to the tank.

Yeah that's what was going to do with a bike tank. But now I've found an aero style filler on eBay . Alot easier.

Well I did a bit more to the car . But not as much as I'd like . But that's what happens when you go out on a school night
Well speaking of the filler area ,that's now done, only negative is there's a bit of Wapping at the bottom. But that will be covered by the integrale arches
Also did a small weld on the bumper mount too
Then seam sealed the rest of the inner arch.
I'll underseal it all tomorrow. When on to the brakes

Just I little update today
The passenger side is now undersealed .so another job ticked off. Been reading up about rebuilding the 1.8 block I've got. But I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to do it . I don't want to cock it up . It had a con rod let go. But there doesn't seem to be any damage to the crack. Just a small dent to the bottom of the bore,but away from the piston stroke .
I've got a spare set of heads to bolt on. Just need a sump rings shells and engine gasket kit.
Don't know what to do?

Have it crack tested ? - or bore another block to suit ?

Bit more progress today
Removed the rear axle brakes and supporting arms. Plus the brake balance valve thing as I'll have one in the for that.
started clearing up the axle. Shouldn't take to long with the knotted wheel . Then paint it all . Quite temped to spray it a brighter colour than black
We shall see tomorrow

Well the jacking points are holding now the axles off
The problem is now I'm going to have to sort the front end out ,as I'm doing the back.

Just I little update. The axle and arms are now all sprayed . Etched then primed ,then glossed. The the springs are done in standard Alfa red
Waiting on the polyurethane resin.then I can put the axle back together Back to my day job. I'll Be working on this awesome Jag xe rs supercharged bad boy . I'll be respraying the rear bumper as his wife hit it

Well got the polyurethane stuff today . So had a go at adding to the stock bushes . With poly bushes. They seam to stick out both sides of the arms . So what I've done is fill the area higher like a poly washer each side. The stuff goes off bloody quick so did a bit at a time. It works really well. I'm glad it didn't take out the stock rubber as they would have been rock solid . But there is a bit of movement in them . But they are alot firmer than stock . that's for sure
I've used just over half of the bottles . So cost me about £10
Hopefully fit the rear axle back on the car tomorrow

didn't know there was the stuff available to cats your own bushes mate, looks like it could be very useful stuff, easy to use?

Yes been reading up on it .plus there's videos on YouTube. Some use polyurethane sealant like tiger seal , pu18 but its quite rubbery and similar to stock rubber. Purple Powerflex is 80 shore strength .black Powerflex is 90. This stuff I've bought.is ment to be 70. But I'd say it's firmer than that.

Very easy to use .just measure 50-50 by weight . But use small amounts.it pot life is 3-4 mins

Just a quick update . Went out to check the bushes. They are now rock hard . Looking into it .I bought the wrong type I've now bought the right type . It's a 85 shore strength .so in between. The purple and black Powerflex from what I've read. Should be here Wednesday.

Only a small update. The right polyurethane rubber turned up last week. I haven't tried it yet . As I'm on holiday in Corfu
But here's pick of it . Big plus they sell Alfa beer here

Yes been along time chap . Slowly getting there with the 33. But it's stalled again . Still waiting on Alex to sort out rear brake mod to disks . Need to give him nudge . Then I'll get back to it
