Nice one Simon.

I bet Nissan will soon get over the "didn't they all rust" shadow quicker than Alfa/Fiat /Lancia

exactly my thoughts Keith, all the grief Lancia got over the Beta with "engines falling out" which was way exaggerated and here we have cars snapping in half with hardly a murmur!

the stigma has all but killed off Lancia as the rust name has stuck

amazing that one hasn't broken up when going down the motorway....that would be catastrophic

It's run-in then

Serious, congratulations. 200k is quite a milestone. Did you have to nurse the car to it or are you treating it like a proper Italian and thrashing it to within an inch of its life (oooer missus) on a daily basis?

no pampering Lauren, often gets a good work out on way back from unit, deserted twisty caistor high street for about 15 miles, a favourite road with the bikers...

it's had a gearbox & clutch about 30k ago though :)

Yes, master piece, but in this colour for me :

However all I could buy myself was this version to hang in my pit.

Those Miura seats reminded me that I was able to remove my sack cloth underpants earlier this year, having finally righted a wrong and swapped Mrs veesix75's oil burning 1 series for a turbo petrol, albeit a 1400. Very impressed so far. Not a new one but managed to find a low miles giulietta Sportiva.

Possible acquired taste combo, but the boss secretly loves it (as do I :D )

Oooh, that is nice. Initially I thought "SVJ" but then I saw the replica wheels. Makes you wonder what Piet Pulford's Jota replica must be worth, he even went to the trouble of getting Bob Wallace to advise on the build.

Every time I read about "legendary" test driver Valantino Balboni I think of what Bob Wallace did for Lamborghini - refined the Miura into its ultimate form, built the Jota in his spare time, developed (with Paulo Stanzani) every last nuance of the Countach, built the amazing Urraco Bob (32v V8 310 bhp, won outright the only race it ever entered) and Jarama Bob... what an incredible legacy. All forgotten now, it would seem...

Lauren

PS - can I have the MiG 23 as well??

I don't think any colour could make a Miura look bad, but bright is best.
With you Lauren on the Mig . It looks great as a background.
Tim, is that a 170bhp multiair Giulietta ? I love the looks of a Dino, but everyone I have heard who has experienced one doesn't seem to have a good word for them. Shame as like I said, I love their looks, very pretty. :?

Of course there was the rampant rust problem, and poor ergonomics (even by the standards of the day), but apart from that contemporary test reports seemed to praise the Dino very highly. Perhaps, like the Urraco that followed it, as an entry-level supercar it just never felt special enough? Or maybe the price inflation caused by the rust issue makes them poor value for money. Either way, still a nice car (although I prefer the 308 GT4 myself).

One of my friends from school inherited the aluminium-bodied 206 Dino used in the Persuaders TV show. I remember his father driving it around town back in the day, until he decided to strip down the engine... not sure what happened to it after that.

That Miura looks very much like the fantastic one that was at Prescott Hill climb last week.

louder than the beast of Turin and heaven knows how many times faster the engine was spinning. :D

One guy was taking a picture at the back low down and the driver blipped it making the photographer spin away at the wall of noise that hit him.

Rather funny if your not the guy who's ears are ringing.
