With all the hybrid motors being built now, how on earth did you know that was a BMW unit?
Well done.

The Interweb says its a Datsun 1200 coupe - which I thought was a Datsun Sunny...?
But there's a lot I don't know about JDM, although I can spot a 1972
hachiroku...
...Or a KPGC110 for that matter
Whatever it is, it's a really nice machine

I thought it was a 120Y coupe also, there were a lot of variations of the 120Y. Not sure if it still had a 1200 in it though or not. It was lovely.

I think the 120Y was called the Violet - slightly larger body style.
I love the styling from that period - Datsun Violet, C110 Skyline, Mitsubishi Celeste, Galant Sigma (remember them?), Toyota Crown coupe, the list goes on...

we had 120Y's when i was a nipper.....didn't think they were as big as that though
anything from datsun really, bluebird was a popular car on the drive.
know we had a 180B and seem to recall an SS of some sort???
sure shrew will know, he's a jap fan
does look very nice though

If i remember the 1200 came before the 120Y it then went 140 160 180. If you can find me a mint 180SSS I'd probably swap my Sud for it.

I'm sure it's a 1200 coupe, it's was no bigger than the later 120y in size, not sure when they used the sunny name.
It's not a violet.

That is so cool - even has the JDM fender mounted wing mirrors. I'd have one of those instead of a Micra any day!
(Except perhaps a Micra March - with the exception of the Delta S4, the only production car to feature compound turbo-supercharging)

Ooh, thats quite a statement mate! lol!
a friend of mine had a 180sss yonks ago, good car that just refused to break!
very interesting, dogleg gearbox, great spec, and even cornered well too
only downside was it was pretty rusty, and the former keepers remedy was to paper mashe any holes and rag roll the whole car (except the vinyl roof!) in three shades of blue!

Damn! I was going to say Ferrari 308 Rainbow, but it isn't
I don't know what it is either! The styling reeks of late 1970's Bertone, and I can see a rear view camera too, but I'm afraid I'm stumped!

Ooh lauren!
Seems your crown gad slipped somewhat too then! Ha ha!
I agree with your train if thought, but just cant place it.
Sure I've seen those lights somewhere else, seats look quite concept, and is that a support strut mount, top left if picture from a glazed engine cover perhaps?
