Good work Dave. You’re allowed 15 psi across highest to lowest values, so you’re just in. Re-torqued heads may also help.

Looking forward to hearing good news on the final tuning.

I did wonder about the existing head bolts.
Haynes talk about using new ones........no longer available I presume.

So, when using bolts that are 30+ years old, and which have probably been torqed up many times......should the specified torque figure be increased?

Make sure it's not coming from the inlet manifolds Dave, water runs through them into the head and has been known to run into the inlet ports giving thoughts of steamy exhaust head gasket issues!
Not running down from there and sitting on the head to block join?

my brains were cooked after a long day in the garage fitting the engine!

I'll check the manifolds/gaskets today

Took the carbs off, and tightened up the manifolds.....leaks fixed.....Result!
