The car had some small faults only body work ,scratches and an OK repair which I pointed out ,to which he tried to blagg until I said I was sprayer  why are salesmen so full of poo  the seats are some of the best I've sat in .so good after a three hour drive home, the Bose system sounds amazing 8-) handles great .power well not great ,but that's because the poor engine and turbo is strangled by the two cats (watch this space ) ;) but its a great cruiser !
So tomorrow if its not raining the polisher will be out!!
What a great car ,ticks all the boxes for me :D

i'd check the maf and egr JB.
should be very keen as is, my 140 147 is great and johns new 170 Q2 147 ducati is superb, both have all cats in place. think J's even has a dpf!

duff maf's can cause lack of grunt, map sensors clog up too casuing issues. egr's stick open and cause terrible lag.

cracking cars though, love 'em. lack of doors though is against me at the moment.

Cheers for the heads up Kev , in fairness I didn't really boot it much , but I it didn't feel as revie as my old car with no cat and huge k&n ! It's had a new egr two years ago . But I'd like to blank it, but with this car I be leave you have to have deleted in the ecu or it mite throw up a faulty? Mite blank it and see what happens ??

You can't blank it completly without an egr delete but you can get a plate with 4 small holes in it. You can use that one without a delete :)

Just found this info out from ahm happy days :D

Some 2006 and all 2007 2008 150 bhp GT AND 147 1.9 jtds
show around 170 bhp on my rolling road
the Ducati also shows 175 bhp
Q2 GT 175 bhp

the older cars say 156/147 1.9 150 show around 150 bhp
the 140s show around 140 bhp

159s The 1.9s seem to read around 160 165 bhp
2.4 200 shows around 200
2.4 210 shows around 210

and so on
so you can see that some cars have more then listed figures
and some dont

We see alot of these cars a lot brand new so im quite happy
with the results

Infact I rolling road some race cars with engines that have just come off the
engine dyno to make sure mixture etc are ok when fitted in the car
we are in most cases with in 5 bhp of the dyno

hope this helps

Morning JB. Still loving the BlackLine?

I decided to bite the bullet and have just ordered a set of Cooper Zeon CS Sports to replace the truly awful Sunny "tyres" on mine.

The Coopers came in at £92 (fitted) a corner, which isn't too bad for the 18" size and they're the ones that BBC F1 pundit David Coulthard has had a hand in developing (allegedly).

How are you getting on with yours?

Morning chap

Loving it  mine has Avon zz3's look great and seem to grip alright , just in the wet not amazing. but I put that down to being so low profile , just can't attack the rounder bouts with such vigger  those tires you've gone for sound interesting!

Hopefully I'll be replacing the front precat from js tuning tomorrow and gutting the main cat stealth ;) I've ordered a k&n panel filter and I want to see if I can mod the airbox! All this should wake it up a bit more. But I've got to say it is a pretty quick car now I've got used to driving it and the sixth gear :D
God I love the Bose too
I'll update you on how I get on ;)

Well just fitted the precat , easy job apart from the clamp on the turbo. Easy to undo . But now I know it should ping open. For me it didn't until I hit it afew times , then just pri it apart. I did all this in the road without jacks ! Now if there is any mod your ever going to do, it's this ! The car is stock apart from this mod and it's a different car now :D from 1500 rpm it just wants to go! I also cleaned the map sensor too which was covered in crap . So just cleaned it was contact cleaner and paper towel . Very easy to clean .
Roll on tomorrow to gut the main cat

Nice one mate, get rid of all those ridiculous restrictions.

Remember a good mask when splitting that Cat, horrid stuff in there, and you wouldn't want too much of it for breakfast!

A map is on the menu for sure now, just wait till the very end of your derestricting, blanking, ducting and bashing!

bring it all together nicely with a good linear map, and the boost sensor might just allow it without a fit!

Morning
In the end I didn't have to open the main cat , as it's half cat and half silencer . So just drilled the cat side with masonry drill, there was two banks of filters , once they broke up , just pull them out .there was a strip of metal in there too which needs to come out . Job done ! On the h&s side . I did this part in the garden, so not to breath any nasties in!
Now waiting for the k&n to arrive . Looking at back boxes I can mod to fit as well ;) mpg's at 50+

I used to use many of these universal back boxes years ago with the jap imports i used to mess with.

Surprisingly good for a universal back box, and they are cheaper than i could even buy the raw materials for.

The stainless isn't the best grades, but kept clean, they are good for some years, and the internal silencing is stable for some time too.

One of these survived a tuned Evo4 of a friend of mine for three years perfectly before he sold, might still be on there now?
