OK, I'm here now, and I think I'm going to be right at home in the cosy lounge Shrew and Kev have made for me (thanks guys).

Personally I think it's great to have some more green cars around. You should have heard the amount of negative comments that accompanied the first outings in my Nova - "great looking car, shame about the colour" etc. Some wag even implied my choice of colour was due to me being a woman and of course the car should be red! Anyone would think Alfa only offered red paint

Being in a minority of one made it easy when it came to pet names, but the tide (of red) was bound to turn sometime. I don't suppose anyone with an red Alfa can be anywhere near as non-specific!

I think the Green Meanie is one fabulous machine :D

Just one question

Is ted's rev counter different as it looks like he's only pulling 4000 RPM :o

teds' dash is a race spec stack one, similar (same model?) as this one.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STACK-ST8130- ... 3f322a0e7d

7k is about the figure he revs to on track days i believe?

certainly feels about that.

Hi Guys,

Been really busy recently so sorry I haven't logged on.

Yes, Shrew I did chuckle when I read that post - especially the bit about my plimsols!

On track days I use around 7000 rpm and when I raced at Cadwell last June pushed that to 7500. But back in the day when I was racing it regularly the limit was 8000. Dave Thomas went even higher.

I will be getting it ready to do some track days in it this year shortly so will keep everyone updated. There's an open invite to anyone interested in passenger rides to come along. Time is the thing and I'm really getting stuck into single seaters this year which is a whole new world! If anyone is interested I'll post some pics and an update.

Kev, I'll write a dedicated post about the Crossle but, so far, it has been brilliant fun. Single seaters is a totally different discipline to saloon cars but I'm getting there......slowly! To give an example about how competitive it is - I tested at Brands in early March and got down to a time that was .4 of a second off pole. That would have put me 9th on the grid!

My next races (rounds 3 and 4) are at Croft on the 26/27th of April. Qually and race 1 on Saturday. We'll also be testing on the Friday. If Rob and you can make it I'll send you some tickets - be good to catch up.

Hi Ted,

I am a newbie.

I met you at Brands Hatch when I was supporting the red Sud Sprint. You kindly told me about this forum and invited me to come along to a Cadwell track session with the other boxer fans (tomorrow I think) but unfortunately I cannot make it.
We are taking the Sud Sprint and a Sud to Oulton Park on the 25th. Will you bring the Green Meanie? There are four Suds going already but it would be great if loads turn out. Can you round up any other boxer racers to come along?

All the best,

Simon

Hi Simon

Do you know who/which the other suds are that plan to be at Oulton (in addition to you and I)?

Thanks Tim
