Nesting in the garage.

Can anyone join this thread ? My favourite bird, a Wen has built a nest above my work bench with 3 chicks about to fledge. :D

Comes in to feed them even if I am there. Never had one so close before in all my years of working outside.

Sorry about the lousy photo.

Amazing that they have nested in your workshop. We had some pigeons nest on our security light last year and was fascinating watching the young fledge. They were about for a few weeks after being fed by their mother in the garden.
Nice Giant XTC too. Are they Cinelli bars and stem hanging in the rafters? old school drop bars!

Very good spotting indeed. They are Cinelli bars off a very nice Harrier Orbit.

Custom made, second hand, but fits me like a glove, bar I cannot cope with drops so put flat bars on.

The xtc is my nephew who has just learnt that if you do no maintenance what so ever it costs you big time.

I think he assumed it was like a computer and you just switched it on and it kept going but with out the ransom virus !

Wrens fledged today so 4 of them bobbing about the garage and as there is a fledgling Tawny Owl just outside I do not want to scare them out.

Best do the garden.

Sounds like you need a visit from Michaela Strachan James. :D
At the back of where I work is some wooded wild land and it is amazing the birds I see and hear while at work. I have even seen deer looking through the fence.
Believe it or not, this is on a very busy, industrial estate with cr@p all around us, but nature always finds a way.
Your guests obviously don't find you a threat.

Very good.

Three fledged, caused chaos for a day, knocking things over and appearing when you least expected it when you went in there. So locked the shed and left them to it. Then gone. Fab. :D

Great to see they're all healthy and fledged successfully. Sort of satisfying feeling when you know they are on their way.
Guess you just have to tidy up behind them now, oh and find a bike to put those nice carbon front forks in.
I bet you could build a complete bike from the spares you have in there.

Yes there is a great feeling of satisfaction despite you not having done the work.

A chum has just had a new shop built and had the moaning builders leave in lots of holes. They got into it in the end, but were not happy at the start.

First year and every hole had a nest in, he is so pleased and I can fully understand it.

The forks were bought off a chap who did not have his act together so I bought them quick and felt clever. Then got home and found they were for a 26inch wheel not a 700. what a chump I am.
