Sud S1 air filter stickers

Post by KevJTD »

For my own series 1 ti air filter I wanted to keep the lovely painted on writing but the housing needed sanding and painting as rust was inevitably coming through.
I wondered about leaving the painted bit but that'd look odd.

So I took it to get a new one made, if possible.

The re-creation is superb I have to say, the colour and text are perfect. A vinyl layer was overlayed to prevent any colours washing off when cleaning or polishing. The text is very sharp, no colour bleed and should stand up to any scrutiny. They were so good I had a batch made......

So if anyone wants one for their own car I will be able to post one out to you for £3 inc P&P to UK, £5 inc P&P to Europe and rest of the World.

I will be trial fitting one soon so if you want to have one please express an interest on here.

After a time I will offer the remainder on ebay at a higher, non forum discounted price.

Hi Kev,
Can you put one aside for me please.
Looks the part, so I will have one off you.
I "bent" one for a Bertone filter on mine but a spare is worth having.
Cheers.

cheers guys for the interest.

i'm planning on trial fitting one on my own filter casing this weekend once the paint goes on.

once i'm happy that they fit nicely and don't do anything daft like peel up or fit wonky then i'll be happy to send them out.

i can take the fee via paypal if you like.

anyone interested can just pm me with your full name/address and i will reply with my paypal username to send the money to.

should have some pics up by midweek at the latest as long as i get some black on the housing on sunday ;)

yes mate, the detail stuff is fun especially when it's at this nice stage. makes a refreshing change from grinder sparks i can say :D

anyway.

heres the lid painted & the sticker in place.

not 100% accurate on the curvature if i'm honest, a bit too wide on the radious, but i'm happy with the result.

if folks still want them then i will post out when details have been sent to me of who/where to send them. i will reply with my paypal username when a pm is recieved

Hi Kev

Good job on getting the sticker made which has got me thinking about all the other stickers etc.

Could you get other stickers made ?

I will need the stickers that go on the inside of the bonnet - paint code, electronic ignition, genuine parts + what oil to use and Bosch stickers for the coil and alternator

I have had a bit of a look round online and there are a suppliers of the electronic ignition and genuine parts ones e.g. some of the 105 series parts suppliers but not with any good pictures to see if they are the same as the Sud stickers

I got an oil sticker from Steve Parry which is ok but not quite correct

I guess there will be other owners of S3 Suds that may need them as well ?

i can get any sticker made to this high quality finish, even if the original is far from perfect, but need pretty much complete originals to make copies from.
if anyone has an original that they are willing to lend for the purpose i'd be happy to get some made, although in low volume sales they would be more expensive than i've advertised these ones at, i had hoped that ordering a few extras (ok, a lot of extras :) ) and selling a fair amount of them would help offset the high cost of producing just one copy, but as yet just 2 sold. i will try the air filter ones on ebay very soon i guess, see if i can get some cash back on them.

but to repeat to the original question, copies can be made from my supplier without too much trouble.

I still have quite a few of these stickers left so if anyone is going to Duxford for Spring Alfa Day this Sunday and wants one they can get one from me for £2 instead of paying for P&P
